Lunar Mindfulness is a concept I came up with a few years ago as a way to be gentle with myself.
I wasn't (and am still not) the best at making time every day for mindfulness and self-care, but I have always been influenced by, and drawn to the moon. I have a moon tracker on my phone, and I make time for self-care activities and rituals around the different phases of the moon.
The moon phases flow with my personal magical and mindfulness practices. I find the ebbs and flows of energy fit so well with my own.
I do make time for a tarot/oracle card draw every day with my morning coffee, but find mindfulness "easier" when working with the moon's phases.
For instance - at different phases of the moon, I will sit and moon-gaze and not be distracted, the way I sometimes can be distracted while meditating. I write affirmations at different points for the lunar cycle, and when the moon is full I am often inspired to write full poems and messages of gratitude to Lady Luna.
And while I improve my self-care habits, creating tools like the Sloth Care Oracle to do just that, I lean very much into expanding a lunar-based mindfulness routine, rather than descend into self-recrimination when I miss x day of the month/week :)
